Shoes for Houston

WHAT HAPPENED?

The region between Houston and Corpus Christi, Texas have experienced unprecedented flooding and damage from Hurricane Harvey, which made landfall as a Category 4 storm on the state’s Gulf Coast on Friday, August 25. The loss of property and sheer devastation that several hundred thousand people are experiencing is catastrophic — and we want your help in bringing much-needed aid to our neighbors to the southeast. Fleet Feet Sports Houston has called on the running community to help them respond to their community's needs and we are stepping up.

WHAT CAN I DO?

Glad you asked! Fleet Feet Sports stores all over the country are collecting new or gently-used shoes and new pairs of socks to donate to victims of the storm. We, at Fleet Feet Sports San Antonio, are taking in all donations from these stores, San Antonio, as well as from our vendors.

DONATE NEW & GENTLY USED SHOES AND NEW SOCKS

We are taking donations of closed toed athletic shoes at both of our Fleet Feet San Antonio locations. To streamline organizational efforts, please do the following prior to dropping off your donation:

  • Tie the shoes in pairs with their laces
  • Mark on the back heels the gender and size of the shoes — for example: M12 (Men's Size 12), W9 (Women's Size 9)
  • Pair socks together
VOLUNTEER IN SAN ANTONIO OR TO TRANSPORT SHOES TO HOUSTON
Because we will be taking in shoes from around the nation we will need assistance in organizing and moving shoes at our stores and storage areas. Also, because most large relief organizations are focused on food and water, we will be transporting shoes to Fleet Feet Houston ourselves and they will be organizing local distribution efforts out of their five locations. All this in saying, we will need help in transports the shoes to Fleet Feet Houston stores.

We are currently looking for anyone that will be traveling from San Antonio to Houston that can fill their car/truck with shoes and deliver them to one of many convient locations all over the Houston area!
We have a list of addresses in Houston of Fleet Feets and other specialty running stores that will be taking in the donations.
