In the southernmost part of the Mexican state of Quintana Roo, on the Yucatan peninsula, near the Belize border lies the Mayan ruins of Kohunlich . Near the park sits the Explorean Hotel , an exquisite, thatched-roof, jungle lodge, that played host to the Q50 Mexico, February 15th. The ruins and hotel are set in the Mexican jungle full of ferns and palms, holding Howler Monkeys, Toucans, coatimundis, and snakes. (tales of big cats also float around).
